UnSigne @Dopludo: Who are you?
We are the collective Dopludo composed of Lesha Galkin, Egor Bashakov and Karina Eibatova. We live in St. Petersburg, but we are moving to Moscow. We are artists and designers are graduates of a fine-art school in Sweden.
UnSigne @Dopludo: What kind of products do you customize ?
Pillows, t-shirts, posters , wooden toys, book covers ,passport covers…
UnSigne @ Dopludo: Do you draw your illustrations before knowing the product or products can inspire you drawing?
In both directions. But it is true that recently we decided to work on pillows that have inspired illustrations related to the support.
But it can also be a mix between the product, our graphic universe and our personal tastes. For example, we also love the music and during this series of pillow customization, we had fun creating this one we call « Piano » which is a keyboard on which we printed keys words that deal with dreams, sleep and music! :
UnSigne @Dopludo: How do you manufacture your custom products ?:
We manufacture our products with help of different factories and organization partnership.
Some things are handmade stuff.
UnSigne @ Dopludo: How do you sell them ?
Unfortunately, we don’t have lot’s of design stores,
and we haven’t any good way to sell products, but we are up to open our own internet store.
We would highly appreciate any offers about selling our custom stuff…
UnSigne @ Dopludo: Why do you love customization ?
Because it’s a nice way to show other people your expressions, and it’s kind of interesting way to connect with people.
And we are trying to make some money, and the thing is that to make art we need money,
that’s why we do some nice design stuff and sell it, instead of selling art stuff, we just don’t like to make commercial art.
